Maiden Voyage of Eco-Ark
Sailing Into the Future: The Maiden Voyage of Eco-Ark
On 18 July 2029, we were honoured to witness a defining moment in sustainable aquaculture at the maiden voyage of Eco-Ark, held in Batam, Indonesia. Developed by the Aquaculture Centre of Excellence (ACE Group) and led by our dear friend, Marine Engineer Leow Ban Tat, Eco-Ark is the world’s first fully eco-sustainable floating fish farm.
We’re proud to have contributed through ASDA’s design of the building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roof platform, a key architectural feature that supports the solar PV system powering the entire facility off-grid. With its use of sanitised natural seawater, zero-waste processes, and no carbon footprint, Eco-Ark stands as a living model of sustainability in action.
Now stationed off the coast of Pulau Ubin in Singapore, Eco-Ark is more than just a fish farm—it is a floating testament to innovation, ecological responsibility, and the potential of design that works in harmony with nature. At ASDA, we believe this is how we build the future: beautifully, purposefully, and sustainably.
